Are you tired of the same old seasonings that do not add flavor to your food? Look no further! Barber's Seasoning Salt is a one-of-a-kind handcrafted seasoning that goes with anything and everything.

Back in the early 1980's, Jim Barber decided it was time to create a seasoning salt that stood out from the marketed salts during that time. He started combining ingredients together until he discovered the perfect combination. After Jim's death, his wife, Annette, ran the business until three years ago when her son, James, and daughter, Shelia took over. I had the pleasure of interviewing Mr. James and learning more about this family business.

There were many takeaways from the interview that highlighted the highs and lows of being an entrepreneur. Quality is the essence of the Barber family business. They believe that if they can put out a wonderful, quality product, everything else will fall into place. Barber Seasoning's Salt prides themselves on making one universal salt that works for multiple products. The biggest challenge an entrepreneur like James faces is getting a customer to try their seasoning salt product because there are so many different types out on the market. To help combat this challenge, Mr. James has started creating small samples to give out as well as getting more involved in social media platforms to further market the product. Mr. James is now turning his focus to helping his family business grow. He hopes that more businesses will pick up and retail their seasoning. Barber Seasoning Salt is currently located in multiple locations in eastern North Carolina (refer to the website above for a specific list).

Being able to interview Mr. James was an amazing experience. I can absolutely say that Mr. James is leading with purpose in the rural area of Sampson county.
